At the forum, Patrick fielded questions on the state of the economy, the expected rise in the sales tax, and a proposal to ban the use of taxpayer funds to buy bottled water. Deborah Lapidus, an organizer with the Corporate Accountability International campaign, said the state government should encourage people to use tap water and save money, and added that New York’s governor, David Paterson, has endorsed the ban.“We’ll look at that, sure,” Patrick said.
